Position Overview
We are seeking a highly technical and proactive Technical Support & Website Developer to manage website support, server maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of client websites and servers while providing technical expertise and problem-solving. While the primary focus is on technical support, this role may occasionally assist with WordPress-related development tasks as needed.
This position is open to remote work, but applicants must be PA residents.
Key Responsiblities
- Website Support & Maintenance (Primary Role)
- Perform routine WordPress updates, plugin maintenance, backups, and security patches.
- Troubleshoot website errors, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities.
- Respond to client support tickets and requests, ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Optimize website speed and performance (caching, image compression, database cleanup).
- Manage and resolve Google Search Console errors, Google Captcha issues, and spam monitoring.
- Work closely with Liquid Web support to troubleshoot server-related issues.
- Assist with SSL installations, domain migrations, and DNS configurations.
- Implement IP blocking and security patches in response to detected threats.
- Website Support & Maintenance
- Regularly monitor server uptime, security alerts, and performance logs.
- Manage server-side backups and ensure all websites are protected against data loss.
- Work with hosting providers to resolve downtime and performance bottlenecks.
- Conduct PHP version updates and database maintenance to ensure site compatibility.
- Maintain documentation for server configurations, maintenance schedules, and issue resolution processes.
- Website Development Assistance (Secondary Role)
- Occasionally assist with WordPress setup, branding implementation, and Elementor styling.
- Support new site builds by handling basic technical tasks and content population.
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure accurate development of client-approved mockups.
- Help troubleshoot front-end display issues and test websites pre-launch.
- Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and maintain Scribe documentation for internal and client-facing technical processes.
- Ensure detailed records are kept for recurring support requests and troubleshooting procedures.
- Identify and recommend efficiency improvements in support workflows and website management.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in website support, IT troubleshooting, or technical WordPress development.
- Strong WordPress expertise, including updates, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Strong server management experience (monitoring, backups, performance tuning, security enforcement).
- Knowledge of security best practices for both websites and servers.
- Experience with domain, SSL, and DNS management.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent issues quickly.
Preferred Skills (Bonus, but Not Required)
- Familiarity with PHP, JavaScript, or custom WordPress development.
- Experience with GitHub and version control workflows.
- Understanding of server-side caching, database optimization, or cloud hosting environments.
- Experience automating backups, updates, or security tasks.
- Familiarity with Monday.com and ScribeHow for process management and documentation.
