Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Website Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing custom WordPress websites using Elementor, ensuring an exceptional user experience, strong branding consistency, and adherence to modern design standards.
The Website Designer will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Website Developers, playing a key role in shaping website layouts, wireframes, and mockups. This role requires a deep understanding of UI/UX principles, ADA compliance, and mobile-first design to create engaging, high-performing websites.
This position is preferred in-office (Meadville, PA), but hybrid or remote options are available for PA residents only.
Key Responsiblities
- Website Design & Creative Development (Primary Role)
- Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to define website layout and functionality.
- Ensure designs align with branding, accessibility (ADA compliance), and usability best practices.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to translate client requirements into functional designs.
- Work closely with Developers to ensure seamless execution of design concepts.
- Maintain design consistency, responsiveness, and modern aesthetics across projects.
- Website Setup & Implementation
- Configure WordPress, Elementor, global typography, color schemes, and design styles.
- Set up headers, footers, navigation menus, and homepage structure.
- Apply responsive design techniques for mobile, tablet, and desktop compatibility.
- Ensure proper SEO-friendly design practices (image optimization, metadata structure, etc.).
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of professional web design experience (WordPress & Elementor focus).
- Strong UI/UX design skills, including wireframing, prototyping, and responsive layouts.
- Expertise in Figma or Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Strong knowledge of ADA compliance, mobile-first design, and SEO-friendly design principles.
- Understanding of WordPress structure, Elementor page-building, and front-end styling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers and PMs to execute projects efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills (Bonus, but Not Required)
- Experience with CSS, HTML, and basic JavaScript (to assist with advanced styling).
- Familiarity with WooCommerce and eCommerce design best practices.
- Knowledge of project management tools like Monday.com.
- Experience with ScribeHow or other documentation tools for client instructions.
